Welcome to my blog! I decided to start this blog after many nights of thinking, praying and screaming and thinking, praying and screaming all over again. So finally...I have come to the conclusion...I am going NATURAL!!! WHOOO HOOO!

Why? You might ask. Well I don't really have an answer to that question. I know I have always loved the bushy natural look. Also I just want to try something different. I have been getting perms since I was 13 I think. And I knew the chemical damanged my hair but it sooo did the trick.lol.

However I am ready to be chemical free! I am ready to take on this wild journey and become all natural. I am ready to embrace the beauty of being me! Welcome.

OMG I DID IT!!!!!!!!

I did it ya'll!! I did the "big chop"!!!!!!!!!
Just look at all that dead hair, UGH!!!!
Ya wanna know what pushed me, cause you know I wanted to wait at least 3 to 4 months. Well today being Friday, I did this on Tuesday night. The reason was because I was upset with my husband, and I knew that he wasn't really sure if he would like the way I would look if I cut my hair. Soo, out of anger I went into the bathroom and chopped, chopped, chopped.
Then I felt somewhat better, knowing that my husband may not like it. So this would be my way of getting back at him.
Guess what......... HE LOVES IT!!!!!
So my plan backfired.
Anywho, This is the results. To get this look, I just wet it and added some Herbal Essence Totally Twisted and that's it. I still have some permed hair around my edges, cause them edges were permed to the max! (Ya'll know how we used to do it. That perm have our head on fiya, but yet we gotta make sure them edges take. LOL!)It's gone take a while for that natural to come in.  I would have to basically go bald if I wanted to chop all the permed hair off. Not gonna happen!!
So again...I DID THE "BIG CHOP"!!!!
What do ya think?

Nope, I haven't did it yet

Still in the process of just waiting til my hair grow out some more. I have been rockin' my half wigs for the time being. I thought since my sister cut her hair that I would get soo motivated. Which I actually  did but I just didn't stay motivated. *SIGH*. But yall I am going to do it. I just can't see myself  right now with short hair. So until then I will  keep you all updated and when I do do the big chop, believe me you will know cause its gonna be all over this blog. LOL!

My sister did it!!!

Okay, I don't know if I mentioned that my oldest sister is also going natural. Well today she sent me a picture of herself. And guess what...she did "the big chop!!! She looks amazing!! I told her that I probably won't look as cute as she does with a short do. Now that she has chopped her hair, it has really motivated me to do the same. Honestly I had been thinking "do I really want to do this". The most part of me is saying "do it" and the less part is saying " I just got to know what to do with it". So nothing  really holding me back, just need to know what I will do with it once it is chopped. So I soo close to the big chop thanks to my big sissy. Keep an eye out for the pics!

My twist outs

So after twisting my hair yesterday, this is what I came out with. I guess it is kinda cute. I will do this again but I want to have more products to experiment with next time.

Monday, September 27, 2010

Well ever since I have decided to go natural , I have been in the mirror every night with a pair of scissors trying to make that first snip. I want to sooo bad! But I need some more motivation. I have been searching  online, looking for some great transition hairstyles.
Is it me or does everyone who is going through the transition stage, is constantly feeling their new growth. That is what I do all day. Hoping I would just get that sure motivation buzz and "chop chop".

Today while searching online, I came across twist outs. Now my sister mentioned that she liked them but I did not know what they were. So I checked it out and guess what...it is a great transition style and best of all I can do them myself! Yay!! So the girl that was explaining how to do them said to use a setting lotion and she recommended a couple of products, she also said to use some sort of hair oil. I didn't have anything!!! So I said let me see what I can use as substitutes. I grabbed some olive oil  and some braid setting lotion. BAM! We got action!
So I took my products, sat in front of my mirror and got to twisting. It did not take long at all. I still have alot of permed hair and about an inch of new growth, so I don't know if it will turn out right. Keep ya fangas (fingers) crossed. I wanted to take pictures while I was doing it but the batteries died in my camara as I was about to take the pic. But I am picking up some batteries tomorrow and will definitely post some pics. Don't laugh now if  I 'm standing  there cheezin' in the pic and there ain't a crimp, twist or twirl in my head. LOL. Just kidding you can laugh cause I will be.

In The Beginning

Okay I am ready yall. Here is a picture of me today. Now yall I am not a big fan of close up pics so just ignore the fact that I am wearing no make-up, and why my right eye is black I don't know Lol. Anyway I actually cut about 2 inches off last week, trying to get myself motivated about this big change. My last perm was July 26, so this Sunday marks exactly 2 months.
I have about an inch of new growth  in the middle of my head. The sides are all still straight, which lets me know that this is going to be a long road to my desired hairstyle.
I want so bad to just chop the permed hair off and leave the new growth, but I just don't want to be walking around here chickened out, lol. I mean I can wear wigs and stuff but I am so ready for this to just happen.
I am so excited about doing this and hope that those that are following me, get inspired to  do the same. Hey I am your genie pig, you will learn some do's and don't from my blog. I just hope the don't's won't be too extreme. Wish me blessings. I need them.
